Sonali Kumari

I am Sonali Kumari, a folk artist and painter from Vaishali district in the Vajjikanchal region of Bihar.Since childhood, I have had a deep passion for painting and have been creating art continuously.In 2017, I was introduced to Vajjika folk painting, which gave a new direction to my artistic journey.After joining NIFT in 2025 and learning this art form more deeply, Vajjika painting became an integral part of my life.Since then, I have been working continuously on this art form. While understanding its traditional essence, I have tried to take it forward through my own creativity.So far, I have trained around 100 new artists in Vajjika painting.My aim is to preserve the rich folk culture of Vajjikanchal and Bihar through my art, pass it on to the new generation, and give it wider recognition.
